Despite the assurances of French President Emmanuel Macron about Putin’s alleged readiness for de-escalation, Russia continues to gather troops and equipment in the occupied Crimea and Belarus, where the active phase of “allied” exercises began yesterday .
The new satellite imagery was posted on Twitter by Buzzfeed correspondent Christopher Miller.
In the photo – Russian troops arrived at the Oktyabrsky airfield in the occupied Crimea.
“In Crimea, on February 10, a large new deployment of troops and equipment was observed at the Oktyabrskoye airfield. More than 550 military tents and hundreds of pieces of equipment arrived at this abandoned airfield north of Simferopol,” the journalist wrote.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Russia has concentrated more than 100,000 troops around Ukraine, and the Kremlin has deployed part of the equipment and soldiers to Belarus under the pretext of “allied” exercises.
The international community fears that Russia will try to involve these troops in a full-scale attack on Ukraine. On this occasion, the EU, together with the United States and Britain, are working on developing tools to curb the appetites of the Russian Federation.
Against the background of the escalation in the Russian-Ukrainian border area, a series of unsuccessful negotiations for Moscow with the United States and NATO took place: Russia demanded “guarantees” that Ukraine would not join the Alliance.
In addition, under significant military pressure, Moscow is trying to persuade Kiev to negotiate directly with the LDNR militants using multilateral negotiation platforms.
