In Russia, people from the occupied territories of Ukraine , the so-called “DNR” and “LNR”, are called to serve in the army .

According to Viktor Vodolatsky, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, the Rostov Regional Military Commissariat will accept and register everyone, and this, they say, is voluntary,  TASS writes. writes .

It is noted that this proposal concerns the so-called “citizens of Russia”. However, we note that the majority of Ukrainians in the occupied territories have Russian passports.

In the context of this, the Kremlin once again started talking about “ensuring the security and protection of the Russian-speaking population.” Despite the eighth year of Russian occupation in eastern Ukraine, Vodolatsky cynically stated that the residents of Donbass were allegedly worried about “the prospect of an invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

It should be noted that in the annexed Crimea, Ukrainians are also regularly drafted  into the Russian army, defiantly violating international law. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed a strong protest.

Recognition of “LDNR” by Russia: what is known

Earlier, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, headed by Gennady Zyuganov, prepared an appeal to Vladimir Putin, urging him  to recognize the “independence” of certain regions of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions .

At the same time, Konstantin Zatulin, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, expressed doubt that the Russian Federation would be able to recognize the “LDNR”.

The Kremlin at first stated that they had not seen the draft document, but soon added that they would not comment on it until the State Duma made a decision.

On January 21, it became known that the State Duma  gave the green light to the procedure for recognizing the “LDNR” . Next week, the Russian Federation will discuss the initiative of the Communists to recognize the occupied areas of Donbass – the so-called “DNR” and “LNR”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has already reacted to the registration in the State Duma of a project to recognize the “LDNR” as independent.

“According to the analysis of the information that we now have, this initiative was introduced specifically as part of the loosening. So far, we do not see any intention to quickly make this decision and recognize the “DNR” and “LNR” in Russia. This is part of a big game to loosen the situation “, – said Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov explained Moscow’s refusal to recognize the “Donetsk People’s Republic” and “Luhansk People’s Republic” by referring to the Minsk agreements.

At the same time, Putin’s party proposed to officially supply weapons to the LDNR militants.

  1. So… the “separatists” want to create an “independent” micro soviet union? Yeah, that’s not going to have any regrets, of course! Putin’s all too happy to welcome them into Russia, but that also means they shouldn’t be surprised if putin forces his own ideas of Russian policy and lifestyle on them. They can’t have their cake, or Ukrainian traditions in this example, and eat it too, because there’s only one way to keep to Ukrainian traditions. It’s NOT by joining themselves to Russia. Either move to Russia, or accept yourselves as Ukrainians.

  2. “…the Rostov Regional Military Commissariat will accept and register everyone…”
Babushkas and dedushkas and little children? Haven’t they already used-up all the cannon fodder in the occupied zones?
