The Russian Prime Minister added that the construction of the new bridge is “a significant event in Russian-North Korean relations.”

The agency recalled that a new road bridge between Russia and North Korea has been discussed for many years. It will be 850 meters long and will connect to the Russian highway system. The construction was agreed during Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s visit to North Korea last year.

Mishustin, at a ceremony marking the start of construction of the new bridge, assured that it would allow entrepreneurs to significantly increase transportation volumes and reduce transportation costs. In addition, the Russian Prime Minister emphasized that the bridge would ensure reliable and stable supplies of various products, and would also “open up good prospects for tourism.”

According to Russian media , the new road bridge will be completely built by the summer of 2026.
