Putin signed the decree just before leaving Volgograd.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, during a trip to Volgograd to participate in various events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Soviet-German war, signed a decree to name the city’s airport “Stalingrad”, Russian media reported .

It is noted that Volgograd Oblast Governor Andrey Bocharov asked Putin to rename the Volgograd airport to “Stalingrad.” According to him, this is what the participants in the war against Ukraine want.

“We will do that. As soon as I return to Moscow, a corresponding decree will be prepared and signed immediately,” the head of the Russian Federation said, emphasizing that “the word of the Russian military is law for him.”

RosZMI specifies that Putin signed the relevant decree before leaving the city.
