Friends, today is a historic day for us.
Kyiv City Council decided to give the name “Square” in honor of the military-voluntary formation of the Georgian National Legion.
For me and for our boys is the greatest gift we received in Ukraine. This decision is a recognition of the Ukrainian people.
Recognition that the Georgian Legion was one of the largest foreign units that defended Kyiv, Irpin, Bucha, Gostomel and other parts of the region in the toughest days of the full-scale invasion.
We stood by the Ukrainians and did everything we could to save lives and keep the enemy.
This decision is to honor our fallen brothers.
And this is above any award.
In “Square” will be set up a memorial in honor of everyone who gave life for the freedom of Ukraine.
I want to sincerely thank the mayor of Kyiv vitalíû klichko, all the deputies who supported this decision – which is the absolute majority of the Kyiv City Council.
And separately – to each person who has supported the Georgian Legion since day one.
We are here for you.
We will stay with Ukraine to the end, no matter how difficult the path is.
We are sure of a joint victory.
We have the honor. Glory to Ukraine!
