The US Treasury Department announced the expansion of the sanctions list against Russia in connection with an attempt to annex temporarily occupied territories in four regions of Ukraine.

This was reported on the website of the department.

“We will not stand by as Putin fraudulently seeks to annex part of Ukraine. The Treasury Department and the US government are taking drastic measures today to further weaken Russia’s already degraded military-industrial complex and undermine its ability to wage illegal war.” Treasury Secretary Janet L. Yellen.

Thus, the list includes 14 legal entities from the Russian military-industrial complex, three key leaders of the Russian financial infrastructure, and the closest relatives of some Russian officials. 278 members of the Russian parliament are also included in the list – for facilitating Russia’s fake referendums and attempted annexation of sovereign Ukrainian territory.

“We are targeting key leaders in Russia’s financial architecture as part of our aggressive and coordinated efforts to hold Putin and his supporters accountable for his unprovoked incursions and limit their ability to support their economies. The Treasury Department, the US government and our allies will not hesitate to take swift and crackdown on individuals and companies in Russia and beyond that are complicit in this war and these bogus referendums,” Yellen said.

Among those who fell under the sanctions are relatives of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, the wife and son of Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, the family of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina and her deputies and many others.

In addition, the US applies visa restrictions for 910 people, including servicemen of the Russian Federation and Belarusian military officials. In particular, visa restrictions were applied to Russian citizen Ochur-Suga Mongush for torturing a Ukrainian prisoner of war.

    • Putin will fail because everyone outside of St. Petersburg and Moscow know what is happening with Putin’s war on Ukraine. How long can these bitches keep carrying water for Nazi Putin?
If this fake annexation is a pretext to use nukes then NATO has to finally shed their pink frilly dresses and put on some big boy pants and go to work. If NATO can’t do the right thing under these circumstances then they’re not worth joining. Ditto the UN.
