According to Peskov, the Russian Federation has gained some resistance to Western sanctions.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow “will not succumb to pressure” from Western countries that are going to impose tougher sanctions against it . According to him, Russia will not be forced to negotiate to end the war against Ukraine, writes Welt .
Peskov assured that even the planned 18th package of sanctions by the European Union will not lead to an end to the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine.
“Only logic and arguments can force Russia to sit at the negotiating table. It is impossible to force Russia to yield to any pressure or force,” the press secretary of the Russian leader said on Russian television.
Peskov also stressed that he was confident that the new package of sanctions that the EU wants to impose against Russia would eventually be adopted. In response, he threatened an “appropriate reaction.”
“Sanctions are a double-edged sword,” Peskov added.
In addition, the press secretary of the Russian president stated that Moscow considers the EU sanctions “illegal.”
