The Brazilian president has repeatedly refused to support the West in its attempts to isolate Russia and Putin personally.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has canceled his trip to the BRICS summit next week in Kazan, Russia. According to the Associated Press , the reason for the cancellation was an accident in which the Brazilian leader suffered a head injury.

Da Silva, 78, fell in the bathtub and hit his head on Saturday night. He was examined at a hospital and received five stitches. The Sirio Libanês Hospital in Sao Paulo said the president had been advised against long-distance travel but was allowed to continue his normal activities.

The Brazilian President said he would attend the BRICS summit via video link.

Lula was expected to travel to Russia on Sunday evening. The Brazilian leader was scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit.

  1. So the BRICS has been reduced to the RICS. On top of this, the Chinese economy is cratering, despite attempts by the Chinese govt to stop the decline.

  2. He hit his head hard enough to miss and important diplomatic. economy summit A WEEK LATER.
This is either a piss poor excuse.
    OR
This messed with his head a LOT worse than they are letting on.
You would only do this if he suffered a subdural hematoma or a severe traumatic brain injury like a brain bleed.
One way or the other there is more going on than “Five Stitches”.
