Putin claims he exercises and in good health, but he looks pretty frail. Putin is 72 years old. Zelenskyy is 47.

Putin demanded direct talks with Ukraine in Türkiye on May 15, Zelenskyy said he’d come in person — challenging Putin to do the same.

We all know Putin won’t come — to the “peace talks” he demanded himself. This tells you everything you need to know:

*Putin doesn’t really want direct negotiations. He thought it would be a good stalling tactic. * Putin is a coward. He is seriously terrified of Zelenskyy. * Putin doesn’t really want peace. He wants to continue the war, continue killing the Ukrainians and destroy the Ukrainian cities. Putin takes pleasure in it.

Anyone who has been monitoring this war understands that Putin doesn’t want peace — he wants Ukraine. Donald Trump saying that he believes that Putin wants peace means he’s either poorly informed, works for the Kremlin — or mentally incapable to process information. Or he’s purposefully lying! Either way, it’s getting harder and harder for Trump’s sycophants to defend his stance on Putin.

In any case, Zelenskyy offered Putin to meet — at the place, chosen by Putin, on the date, chosen by Putin. The meeting won’t happen because Putin is a coward. 😡

“Russia is only prolonging the war and the killings,” pointed out Zelenskyy, adding that there is still no clarity who is coming to negotiate for Russia — less than 24 hours before supposed “negotiations in Istanbul” that Putin himself demanded in his 2 am speech last weekend.

The speech, parts of which were written by hand — Putin didn’t want anyone to know what he was going to say. Even the journalists that were invited were mostly from the western media — not Russians. Obviously, Putin wanted his announcement to remain secret and only be broadcast live.

Some commentators say that Putin went against China’s wishes — the Chinese foreign ministry issued a statement saying they support the position of Europe for an immediate ceasefire. Putin obviously refused the ceasefire offer and offered “direct negotiations” in Istanbul on May 15 instead.

If Putin indeed went against China’s view on ending the Russia-Ukraine war, this would explain why he was waiting until 2 am to make the statement. It also explains why Brazilian president flew from a visit to China back to Moscow — to bring a message. Lula said his message was for Putin to agree to a ceasefire. Putin still didn’t agree.

President Zelenskyy said that Ukraine didn’t attack Russia on May 9 — the day of Putin’s “Victory Parade” because China asked them not to do it. Ukraine respected China’s request.

Putin wants to continue the killings and attempts to capture more land. Putin’s refusal to enter a 30-day ceasefire demonstrates it very clearly.

It was never about the Russian language, never about NATO. It was purely about stealing land and resources from another country and subjugating its people.

Ukraine isn’t afraid of participating in negotiations with Russia in any format. They know their path.

Putin has no path to winning in Ukraine. He lost the fight for souls of the Ukrainians. His refusal to stop the killings and destruction of the Ukrainian cities show who Putin really is and what he really wants, and what Russians became under Putin.

It shows Europe — and the whole world — why they cannot afford to allow Russia to win.

This is what I’d like to see happen Thursday in Instabul:

• Zelinsky and the Ukrainian delegation meet with the low level Russian yes-men minons sent by Putin to perpetuate the phony image of continued Russian negotiations.

• The Ukrainians bring a slew of reporters into the room with them.

• The Ukrainians led by Zelinski put the Russian minions on their heels by going on the offensive: Launch a blistering verbal attack on the Russians about all the atrocities they committed against Ukrainian civilians over the last 3 years. Show pictures, give names, hold up evidence of the war crimes. Demand that Russia compensate Ukrainian families of victims.

• Invite the Russian delegation to show they aren’t cowards by breaking rank with Putin and offering them asylum in Ukraine.

• Offer up reforms on treatment of ethic Russians within Ukraine as the only concession they are willing to talk about.

• Refuse to discuss any of the BS demands from Russia that essentially result in Ukraine’s surrender.

Let’s see where this leads. My guess is that the Russian cowards will walk out of the meeting. I’d like to see all this captured on video by the news media. Feel free to add to my list on how it is possible to throw the Russians completely off balance Thursday in Instabul.
