Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has outlined the conditions for peace talks with Ukraine and said with whom he is ready to sign a ceasefire agreement.
During the annual “direct line”, Putin stated that Russia is ready to engage in a dialogue with Ukraine “without preconditions, but on the basis of the Istanbul agreements and realities on the ground.”
At the same time, he said that Russia would sign peace documents only with the “legitimate leader of Ukraine,” once again spreading rumors about the alleged “illegitimacy” of the current President, Volodymyr Zelensky.
In this context, he said that in Ukraine the Verkhovna Rada and the Chairman of the Rada are “legitimate”. The term of the current president, as he again claims, has expired and “the Constitution of Ukraine does not provide for the possibility of extending the president’s powers even under martial law.”
“We will talk to any person – including Zelensky. But it must be legitimate. We must sign an agreement with those who are the legitimate authorities – the Rada and its chairman,” the Russian dictator said.
