The dictator once again assured that he would achieve the goals of the “SVO”.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin stated that Donbas has always been part of Russia, calling this a “historical fact.” He made this statement on December 9 during a meeting of the Russian Human Rights Council. Russian media quoted him as saying this.

In his speech, Putin noted that “the Ukrainian territories that have returned to the Russian Federation are important” because they supposedly “have always been part of Russia.” Regarding Donbas, according to the Kremlin leader, Russia “was created in such a way” that this territory was part of it.

“This is a historical fact. Even the creation of the Soviet Union, I’ve already spoken about this. Donbas became part of the RSFSR, and then Vladimir Ilyich (Vladimir Lenin, the founder and first head of government of Soviet Russia and the Soviet Union – ed.) decided, as he put it – this is a direct quote from a document – ’to change his mind.’ And he ‘changed his mind.’ And Donbas was given to Ukraine,” Putin said.

Moreover, he once again stated that he would bring the war to its “logical conclusion”:

“We will certainly bring this matter to its logical conclusion – until the goals of the ‘special military operation’ are achieved.”

  1. Does russian history stop with Lenin? Why doesn’t he go back to the time of the Polish/Lithuanian empire, or back even further? Of course this BS is only for TACO who probably doesn’t even know US history, never mind European history.
