The Russian army has begun to retreat in Ukraine for the first time, as nearly half a million Russian soldiers have died in the war in Ukraine. At the same time, European countries must step up counter-sabotage measures by the Kremlin.
This was stated by the head of the British intelligence agency, the Centre for Government and Communications, Annie Kist-Butler. Her words are quoted by the British newspaper The Guardian.
What is known
The publication writes that this is the first time a high-ranking British official has confirmed the assessment of Russian losses in Ukraine over the fifth year of armed aggression.
Kist-Butler specifically warned that “Russia is scaling up its daily hybrid activity against the UK and Europe,” targeting underwater and other critical infrastructure, cyberspace, democratic processes, supply chains and public trust.
“In the face of such aggression and chaos, we are working relentlessly with intelligence and defense partners to reduce and mitigate the Russian threat,” she said.
The intelligence chief also added that the United Kingdom is “thwarting Russia’s attempts to smuggle Western technology, repelling its cyberattacks, and countering reckless sabotage and assassination attempts.”
Note that according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia’s total combat losses in manpower, as of today, amount to 1 million 358 thousand 950 people.

The Polish and British governments have signed a new defense and security agreement to counter threats, including from Russia. The document is part of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s efforts to create a new defense alliance against the Kremlin.
As OBOZ.UA reported, London previously imposed new sanctions against cryptocurrency platforms, banks, and financial networks that helped the Kremlin circumvent restrictions, including the A7 network, which could handle transactions worth tens of billions of dollars. All sanctioned entities are blocked, and British companies are prohibited from any cooperation with them.

I call it terrorism. Stop being so PC and call a spade a spade.
Do you still have hope that Europe will wake up?
Who knows, they seem to be in permanent slumber.
It’s a borderline coma, if you ask me.
In the UK, the socialist welfare state is expanding massively whilst defence spending is increasing, but by pathetic levels.
11% of GDP on welfare
2.3% on defence.
Labour keeps on dreaming up new ways to spend taxpayers money on their crapulous clients: ie slackers and public sector workers.
It’s probably not much different in the other European countries. Many of them don’t even spend 2% on defence.
There are so many ways you can skank money out of the state in Britain that it’s unbelievable.
I’ve never taken anything. Except one op on the NHS.
A poor return for my tax investment!
I think Germany is cutting back on welfare programs. Not sure how successful they are at it, but a good first step would be to cut back on third-world scum entering the country.
“Except one op on the NHS.”
I’ve no idea what that is. 😏
Operation.
I had surgery provided by the NHS – National Health Service. (Socialized medicine).
Oh, now I get it.
