Putin increased the number of military personnel by 137 thousand people

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on increasing the staffing of the Russian army.

In accordance with the decree, the staffing will be increased by 137,000 people. This will be done only by increasing the number of military personnel – the number of civilian personnel in the army will remain unchanged.

How exactly the number of military personnel will be increased – by additional conscription or by increasing the number of contract soldiers – is not specified in the decree.

The decree will enter into force on January 1, 2023.

Russian troops, according to observers, in the conditions of the war in Ukraine are experiencing a shortage of manpower. In recent months, this deficit has been filled by hiring volunteers, including those in pre-trial detention centers and colonies.

  1. Bullshit the idiot could have just as well signed a decree for ten million, ain’t gonna happen.

    • Dang, they started with 190,000 then conscripted thousands and thousands, then added the Fagner war criminals, then forced more thousands to join and now another 137,000? What does that say about the “#2 military in the world” to take a few square kilometers in Ukraine?
