The Kursk operation by the Ukrainian Defense Forces was not only a complete surprise for the Kremlin, but also demonstrated its inability to control even its own border. And despite the fact that many Russian conscripts have already been captured, new batches of them are now being forcibly sent from different corners of the Russian Federation to the border area – spitting on its own legislation.

How conscripts ended up at the border
In 9 days of the offensive in the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have already controlled more than a thousand square kilometers of the aggressor country’s territory. At the same time, conscripts who “covered” the border were among the first to be captured.
This became possible not least because of the actions of Kadyrov’s men, hiding behind the backs of the green soldiers. Now only the lazy do not rinse them, it has reached the point that the Russians demanded that the “Akhmatovites” be exchanged last.
What happened was a shock for the families of conscripts. Previously, mothers and fathers were happy that their children were not participating in the so-called SVO, but the theater of military operations was already unfolding in the Russian borderland.
Despite the myth that the occupying army has unlimited resources, the situation in the border area showed that this is not the case.
“Would all this have happened if the ROV hadn’t had problems with human resources? That’s why conscripts ended up on the border with Ukraine as part of the “North” group of troops, its Kursk formation. “You’ll go to war anyway”
Meanwhile, the enemy began to transfer ROV units from the combat zone in Ukraine to the Kursk region. However, the fear of exposing the front led to a cynical decision: as of today, there is more and more evidence that the regime has decided to send conscripts to slaughter. There is confirming information from the Moscow region, Leningrad, Kaliningrad, Irkutsk, Sverdlovsk, Murmansk, Samara and other regions of the Russian Federation.
For example, according to the Russian anti-war project “Go to the forest!” 250 conscripts were transferred from the Leningrad region to Kursk and lists are already being prepared for sending a new group of soldiers.
Moreover, there is information about the dispatch of conscripts of the spring draft, who have been in service for less than four months, to the combat zone in the Kursk region – and this is contrary to Russian legislation.
There are many comments from mothers of conscripts on social networks. For example, one of them reported that her son took the oath five days ago – on August 11, and at the end of September – beginning of October he will be sent from the Altai Territory to the border.
But conscripts who were able to evacuate from the border of the Kursk region during the offensive are now being forced to sign contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense to be sent to the front lines, two mothers told the Russian opposition publication Verstka.
According to them, there are currently about 150 conscripts in one of the military units in the Kursk region. They are told that after signing a contract, they will follow the stormtroopers to “clean the territory.” The soldiers are also promised benefits and “combat” pay – 4-4.5 thousand rubles per day (at the NBU exchange rate, this is an average of about 2 thousand UAH).
“My son called, they were told: “You will go anyway, but now we will pay you combat pay. (…) And if you don’t agree, then you will go to court and still go [to fight], you won’t get away.” That is, they are planning to send them there anyway. They are trying to put moral pressure on them, they are trying to process them and send our children to this hole,” said the mother of one of the conscripts. The mother of another soldier says that the conscripts “are being persuaded, because a certain number of people need to be gathered.” According to her, they are promised that they will become participants in the “SVO.”
According to the soldier, “everyone understands” that conscripts are being taken to the border area so that they can take part in battles again.
According to Russian analyst Anatoly Nesmiyan, the Putin regime decided to sacrifice conscripts for the sake of its own security.
“At the same time, several million security forces remain completely untouched inside Russia, since the internal enemy for the regime in the form of the people looks much more dangerous than all of NATO put together. Therefore, it is easier for the authorities to weaken certain sections of the front or border than to risk weakening the defense against this terrible enemy,” Nesmiyan wrote on his Telegram channel.

Meanwhile, some mothers of Russian conscripts have started a “movement” on social networks. Some of them are now spreading a link to a petition to Putin across various publics .
“The latest events in the Kursk region raise serious concerns about the safety of conscripts. According to your order, conscripts SHOULD NOT be on the border with the special military operation zone and in the SVO zone, but should have been replaced by special forces units. However, as a result of the negligent attitude of commanders to their duties on the ground, conscripts, our sons, ended up on the front lines, where they were forced to repel attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and some of them were captured. We consider this unacceptable!” the petition says.
The mothers, of course, kept silent about the fact that it was unacceptable for the Russian occupiers to attack Ukraine. Incidentally, their demands included “selfish” ones, such as that all conscripts who found themselves in the border area be granted the status of “combat veteran”, paid benefits and provided guarantees on par with contract servicemen. As they say, no comment here.
It is difficult to say what the situation with sending conscripts to the combat zone in the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation will develop into. However, if Russian mothers swallow the fact that their children are being thrown into the furnace of war and limit themselves to indignation on social networks, tomorrow tens of thousands of conscripts will be sent to Ukraine.
According to the former adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kopytko, Russians who do not want to send their children to their deaths “need to think of something right now.”
“Video messages to Putin will not solve anything, the opposition will not help. Run. Or get ready to fight back. Because this war is incomparable to Afghanistan or Chechnya. The committees of soldiers’ mothers should get involved before, not after. It will be too late,” Kopytko believes.
