US President Donald Trump held a telephone conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, according to Russian media, citing presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

According to Ushakov, the conversation lasted 55 minutes and was “friendly and frank.” Specifically, Putin congratulated Trump on his 80th birthday, after which the two discussed international politics.

In particular, the pending peace treaty between the US and Iran was discussed. According to Ushakov, Trump stated that the results of the negotiations could be announced today.

Trump also emphasized the need to end the war in Ukraine. In response, Putin claimed that recent Ukrainian airstrikes on “civilian targets in Russia” were allegedly hindering a peaceful settlement.

According to Ushakov, the American president expressed his readiness to “influence” Kyiv and the US’s European allies in the matter of a peaceful settlement.

Furthermore, during the conversation, the parties agreed that US Presidential Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who never made it to Kyiv, would visit Moscow again in the near future.

  6. At this point what cards does Trump have to play?
    Financially Europe has filled the void specially after the 90 billion was unblocked.
    Direct aid to Ukraine was his biggest card and he threw that away last year (JD bless his hart was so proud of himself.) Trump got exactly jack and shite for it.
    The only thing left is selling weapons to Europe to be forwarded to Ukraine. But that card has an expiration date as Ukraine has developed, or is in the process of developing, it own substitution weapons.
    So Donny now YIUO are the one not holding any cards in this game.
    And don’t believe for a minuet Zelensky ain’t lovin’ it.
