Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden are scheduled to hold talks by video conference on Tuesday, the Kremlin said, as tensions rise over Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the conversation will take place in the evening Russia time and the two leaders will determine the duration, according to Russian news agencies.
Biden said Friday he would make it “very, very difficult” for Russia to launch any invasion of Ukraine, which warned that a large-scale attack may be planned for next month.
Washington and Kiev say Moscow has massed troops near Ukraine’s borders and accuse Russia of planning an invasion.
Russia has denied any bellicose intentions and accused the West of provocation, particularly with military exercises in the Black Sea, which it sees as part of its sphere of influence.
Biden and Putin had been expected since Friday to hold a video call.
Biden told reporters in Washington he was putting together “the most comprehensive and meaningful set of initiatives to make it very, very difficult for Mr Putin to go ahead and do what people are worried he may do”.
Moscow annexed Crimea from Ukraine in 2014 and has since been accused of backing separatists fighting Kiev in the east of the country. The conflict has killed more than 13,000.
Moscow, meanwhile, wants to see an end to NATO’s eastward expansion, after much of eastern Europe joined the alliance following the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday called on his U.S. counterpart Antony Blinken to provide “security guarantees” that NATO would not come closer to Russia’s borders.
Despite increased contacts between the two rivals since Putin and Biden met for the first time at a summit in Geneva in June, tensions remain high.
As well as the Ukraine conflict, Russia and the United States continue to argue over cyberattacks and the staffing of their embassies, after several waves of diplomatic expulsions.
Last time time this happened, he gave the green light for NS2. What’s he going to give the tiny poisoner this time?
Yeah this might not have even happened if he would have left the Trump sanctions on NS2. Hopefully he learned his lesson but Bidenov’s positions have always changed with the winds and he has a team of liars to help him with the media.
Red, UA Wire has lifted a story from Bild (kraut paper) that has a detailed invasion scenario. It would not surprise me if Russian military were to communicate with the krauts in this way. It is horrifyingly cold blooded and is the result of 8 years of failure by the Budapest signatories. Will they now at last honour their obligations?

I see that now when I click on “User Info”. I didn’t notice that before. I would guess only the contributors have it and thus far I don’t see a way around it. It wasn’t there before?

Me either. It appears to show for everyone that comments. Perhaps if you want to change your info you could use your Facebook address or Twitter?
My ip is a company address, so it’s pretty secure. But I don’t much like my email address showing, even though it’s only a backup one. I use FB, but only via a distant family member. FB isn’t safe, but I thought WP was ok, until now.
I don’t like mine there either and I’m surprised its there. I suspect that’s one way they could get in and steal this from us.
I think I found the problem Red. Our theme is no longer supported. If you click on Appearance/Themes, then info, you will see the theme is retired and we should use a different theme. Obviously something has gone wrong, and we have no way of fixing it, the theme is no longer supported. I found a couple of decent candidates for a new theme, but none that match the existing one. Search Cerauno and Libre 2 in the themes section, they are the nearest blog/magazine themes I found. There are probably more, I’ll keep looking.
But the theme still works. Probably like downloading a wallpaper on your phone and applying it. Even if you delete the downloaded wallpaper, it stiÅ‚l remains as wallpaper in the phone”s theme, until you change it. So if you shift to a different theme there’s no return.
The theme still works, but if a problem crops up with it, it won’t get resolved. A theme is a bit more than a wallpaper, the code in the theme dictates what plugins are used, what is shown, and the security levels. This user info is not visible to anyone not signed in, so if you are getting spam, it’s from someone who signed up on here. I have never had one spam email in the account I use for this website, just notification emails.
It’s not bad. Could be an old hacked account, had several ones, that are to blame. Like i said, the e-mail i use here is not private and not used for anything else than coming here. Sadly i have no clue how WP works, i only have a Blogspot site, so i can’t help you with that theme issue. I hope you will find a solution without breaking downe the whole site. 😂
Good catch Sir Foccusser. I will check out your preferences. Sad because I think our current theme is pretty clean and solid for what we do. If I change it feel free to customize it if you want.
I know once WordPress drop a theme, there will be no updates on it, which could compromise the site. Not sure why they stopped it, there are themes still available that are 6 years old. You should have the option to see what our site looks like on any different theme, without committing to it.
Do you want to take the lead on this? I trust your intuition.

Red, if you look in the media files, I uploaded two screenshots of the themes I mentioned. The Libre 2 looks a good one. It shows no sidebar, but it is available, I just didn’t activate it. It also pulls a quote from the article which is neat.

That Apostrophe 2 looks great. I like the layout too. It made a mess of our carousel at the top of the homepage, but I’m sure we can fix that. Need to get Veth to insert featured images too, else it will look a mess. 😂

I’d be happy with any, but I like the fresh look of this Apostrophe, and if we don’t like it, nothing to stop us trying another.
I like it too. One issue we might have is there is a separation of Featured content with Regular content. The Feature Content could be just a couple we use for our rotating template so we don’t take up a bunch of room when using a cell phone. It also automatically knocks off the sidebars when using a phone, which is good I think since we’re not concentrating on ads.
I’ll check up on that. At the end of the day, the featured content is a nice addition, but not essential.
There is no option for a carousel, but the featured content is more prominent at the top of the homepage. I think one or two is enough, any more could get confusing.

I have our logo somewhere, hopefully. But i need to check four pc’s, which will take a while. I’m very busy.

Well I don’t think its as good but it looks like there’s pro’s and con’s. I thought 6 featured articles was too many but couldn’t figure out how to knock it down to 2-3. I wish we had wallpaper like the last one
You can’t upload your own background with this theme and the supplied ones are hideous, unless you like horrible flowers. 😂 Maybe one of the other themes will allow us more options.
Seems a lot of white space. Was looking at different colour schemes, most are very garish, but this one doesn’t look too bad. It’s the second from left palette in the image.

My spam folder is overflowing since a week ago. Never open a mail or click on a link from senders you don’t know. That’s how hackers hijack phones and computers. I created a mail specifically for WP. I only use it for this account, nothing else.
Looking back at Biden and his negative accomplishments during his brief tenure thus far, I don’t expect anything positive to develop from these talks. Biden will leave the big stick at home and will bring with him an olive branch instead, whereas instead the crime-ridden rodent and his trash country deserve to be smashed immediately by crippling sanctions.
Will Biden prevent WW3? Stay tuned.
Putin will say I have no intensions to invade Ukraine……and Biden will take it for granted and smile. Peace in our time.
