Mark Bray teaches a course on anti-fascism. Right-wing activists call him “Dr. Antifa” – and publish his home address. Now the history professor has fled to Spain.
On the phone, Mark Bray declined to reveal his exact location. “I’ll just say I’m in a hotel,” the US professor said Thursday afternoon. He sounded agitated. “We’re still trying to leave for Spain.”
A few hours earlier, the New York Times had published an explosive article : Bray, author of a best-selling book on anti-fascism and a professor at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, planned to flee to Spain with his family on Wednesday evening after receiving death threats. But when they arrived at the gate with their boarding passes, they were told that their reservation had been canceled.
This is our new reality in the once great United States. Hate and persecutions are spreading like wildfire. National guards are being used to subdue states and cities. Masked ICE thugs roam the streets, looking for a reason to bust someone, literally. The taco president is hounding, oppressing, and threatening anyone standing in his way or who had done so in the past.
Our country is being turned into a fascist banana republic by a convicted felon and child rapist.
Which is worse? Verbal or written death threats or actually shooting and killing someone for their political view?

Hard for me to believe there’s a connection to death threats and someone cancelling the reservation. More likely, seems like someone is self promoting.
You can’t rule it out, Cap. But, what makes me wary is seeing what’s going on in the States. This makes this guy’s story more plausible. Under Biden or another POTUS? No way.
