President Zelensky the world’s shining knight, left his meeting with Trump and Trump’s cabinet looking tired and exhausted. Two hours of resisting the machinations of an unprincipled idiot and his band of similar would leave any sane person grasping for a hold on reality. When a negotiation cannot be closed with logic, it is common practice for salesmen to resort to confusion.
President Zelensky’s mission in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort was to restrain and prevent him from inflicting further damage onto Ukraine’s war effort. It was important to give Trump the impression that there was progress while leaving enough space to withdraw, delay and distract later. Trump called Putin before and after the meeting, attempting to portray himself as a mediator when it is clear to any reasonable person Trump is either controlled by blackmail or manipulated by Putin’s understanding of Trump’s greed, narcissism, and fragile ego.
Dealing with the evil intentions of Putin is predictable and manageable but the evil stupidity of Trump is far more dangerous and difficult to manage. An agreement today can be discarded tomorrow on a whim. Trump is a Real Estate cowboy he works for deals and commissions, not principles. Nothing Putin or Trump say can be trusted. As a result, all negotiations are a battle of deception and intrigue.
Trump must not be provoked. US intelligence is still vital to Ukraine. US sales of weapons to Europe to pass onto Ukraine is still vital. When Ukraine occupied a large area of the Kursk Oblast, Trump halted all US support and intelligence. This resulted in a Ukrainian withdrawal.
At the press ‘conference’ after the recent meeting, Trump claimed his peace deal was ‘90% complete’. That’s akin to claiming to be 90% closer to reaching the top of Everest. That final 10% is the real test. This includes security guarantees, territorial exchanges, and sixty-day ceasefires. If these are only 10% of the issues outstanding, then the balance must have been counted in paperwork rather than importance.
The USA and the UK easily put aside the Budapest Memorandum and the Minsk agreement when Russian annexed Crimea in 2014. Weakness on the part of the west led to this war, more weakness on the part of Europe will lead to more war tomorrow!
Former allies no longer exchange high level operational intelligence with the USA because they know Trump will compromise operations and put servicemen at risk. The incompetence of Peter Hegseth the US Secretary for ‘war/defence’ is unfathomable. Putin does not need or want peace. He needs victory. Only victory in Ukraine will ensure he can maintain his grip on power and restore some semblance of growth into the Russian economy. He has spent his nations savings and is now resorting to trading his gold reserves. His economy continues to deteriorate, inflation is rising, logistical supplies are collapsing, people are going hungry and the Ruble is worthless outside Russia. Putin spends more and more of his dwindling reserves on his war effort; he recruits 30,000 new recruits a month to replace lost casualties. Putin has placed Wagner mercenaries on ‘shadow fleet’ oil tankers to deter marine authorities from halting and inspecting illegal shipments and uninsured ships. If this income stream is cut it could be the straw that breaks Putin’s back.
Ukraine has received the first Narwhal class cruise missiles from the Czeck Republic. This weapon carries 120 kg of explosive. Speed 570kph, range 500km, this terrain hugging, GPS guided missile can resist electronic counter warfare measures and operate independently with artificial intelligence targeting systems. Narwhal extends Ukraine’s capacity to strike industrial complexes as far back as the Caspian Sea further damaging Russian oil and energy infrastructure. The new weapons will be rested on the battlefield before going into full production early next year.
There are two world powers about to collapse, Russia and the USA. The intransigence of Putin and Trump are creating the same results for different reasons. The former desires expansion the latter personal enrichment. Both are destroying their own nations. Putin with war, Trump with greed and ignorance.
Continued European support for Ukraine is essential for the survival of a rules based international order. It is encouraging to see western leaders united in their determination to support Ukraine. However, a stronger posture must be taken in defending our space from Russian probes in the form of drones and minor incursion across our borders. The Turks have shown the way. They shoot down all and anything that Russia send into their airspace. This week a small section of Russian soldier crossed the Estonian border to evaluate the response. The reaction to such ‘tests’ should be firm and leave no doubt in Russian minds that we all are ready to defend our sovereign territories and support our NATO allies.
Ukraine’s defensive posture keeps its casualties far lower than Russia’s, but even at a ratio estimated at seven Russian casualties to every Ukrainian, these losses are hard to sustain and justify to a democracy. Russia knows this and is using Trump to pressure for a referendum in Donbas. Can anyone truly believe there could be a fair vote in any Russian occupied territories?
The US economy is under enormous pressure. The yield on US debt in the form of Treasury Bonds has increased to 4.5 %, confidence in the dollar in weakening. Germany, Italy, and Mexico are demanding the return of gold reserves held in the USA. Far from being the richest nation in the world the USA is the world’s biggest debtor and doubts are forming as to their future ability to repay those debts.
Trump’s attacks on Venezuela oil is an attempt to reduce world oil supply and keep the price of oil above $60. Brent crude currently sits close to $62. WTI crude at $58. Any fall below $60 makes US oil unprofitable because of its high production cost.
Canada is showing the way when dealing with Trump’s USA. Mark Carney has shown how a highly qualified person who understand international trade and commerce can stand up to intimidation. Carney has taken an ‘elbows up’ posture and refused to be intimidated by blatant bullying and intimidation. New logistical supplies, trade routes, and reliable new trading agreements have led to rising employment in Canada at the expense of its closest neighbour. Canada will not submit to stupidity. New agreements with China and Europe combined with new arctic routes for shipping could lead to Canada being the leader of a new world order. Canada has ice breakers and territorial rights. Canada has a new consulate in Greenland and a respect for Greenland’s sovereignty. Shipping routes from the arctic down the Greenland coast will become increasingly important as the world moves away from the Panama Canal.
All empires come to an end. I take no pleasure in the accelerating slide of the USA into irrelevance. The USA has been our comfortable protector and friend for eighty years, but the shelter and friendship we once depended on from their military and ethical stances are failing under Trump.
These changes have forced Europe into a much-needed effort for self-reliance. Ukrainian courage is giving us time and space to redirect, arm and prepare ourselves for the future. The world will always be a dangerous place. Trump and Putin will eventually fail or die, but there can be no going back. Change is coming.
We must hold up Zelensky as our example in 2026. His Integrity, Courage and Example (ICE) in the face of the most terrible adversity, deserves our continued support.

But they all want to murder Ukrainians anyway and Krasnov buys into putler’s filthy lies as usual.

Watching the press conference from Mar-a-Lago on the BBC tonight, the contrast could not have been more brutal. On one side stood Donald Trump. On the other, a real president: Volodymyr Zelensky. The difference was not political. It was moral.
Trump is a repulsive, contemptible figure, and how the United States could elevate such a person to the presidency remains one of the great questions of our time. The future will ask it again and again: How could we make this mistake? Was it a collective stroke of madness, a moment when reason simply collapsed?
Every generation will ask its parents and grandparents: Who did you vote for, and why? And almost everyone will answer the same way: I didn’t vote for Trump. Because the shame will be too heavy to carry openly.
Zelensky is a statesman. Elected by the people, working for the people, bearing the real consequences of leadership every single day. Trump works only for himself. An old man in the final years of his life who still cannot summon even the minimum level of empathy required to make wise decisions. But a person without morality or reason is incapable of wisdom. That is the truth of it.
The American people must now carry a collective shame comparable to that borne by the German people after 1945. Not because the histories are identical, but because the moral collapse is. It will take generations for the United States to repair the damage inflicted by Trump and the grotesque MAGA movement: damage to institutions, to trust, and to the very idea of democracy.
Europe was betrayed. Ukraine was betrayed. Allies who relied on the United States learned that its guarantees were no longer promises, only temporary moods. When Zelensky speaks of freedom, he does so under falling bombs. When Trump speaks of the world, he does so as if it were a golf course populated by extras.
The United States is now a nation in decline. To call it the world’s greatest democracy is no longer a serious statement; it is closer to something one might hear at Disneyland. The facades remain, but behind them the structure creaks, and the actors repeat their lines whether or not they still resemble reality.
What you cost your own country and future generations did not concern you. You traded it away, knowingly, for your devotion to Donald Trump. You chose the man over the republic, the myth over reality, belonging over responsibility.
The final irony is merciless: the man you loved never respected you. To him, you were not citizens, not a people, not a responsibility. You were votes. Numbers. A means to satisfy his ego and extend his power. When the applause ends, nothing remains. No loyalty. No gratitude. Only contempt.
History will not shout about this. It will not rage. It will simply record, calmly and without mercy:
you knew what he was,
you chose him anyway,
and you sold your country’s future
for a man who despised you
and wanted only your vote
one more time.
Shame is therefore not a harsh word.
Shame is a necessary one.
Shame, Americans. Shame.

Taco has earned one thing with most Ukrainians: hate. Not just your run-of-the-mill type of hate, but a very deep-seated hate that might never fade. His name will leave a bad taste in people’s mouths for generations to come, very similar to Putin, Hitler, or Stalin’s.
It’s Taco’s constant servitude to a vicious war criminal who has provoked this level of despise. The worst president in our history never misses a chance to prove his evilness again and again.
