Poland will start providing preferential loans to companies involved in the reconstruction of Ukraine from April

In Poland, a mechanism for preferential lending to companies involved in projects to rebuild Ukraine will begin operating in April.

The corresponding agreement was signed by representatives of the Bank of National Economy (BGK) of Poland and the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy of the country, Ukrinform reports .

The total amount of the deal is PLN 250 million (approximately EUR 60 million) .

“In practice, this is a tool to support Polish companies that are interested in operating in the east, on the territory of Ukraine,” said Jan Szyszko, Deputy Minister of Funds and Regional Policy of Poland.

He added that this is the first time that European funds that were not used in the previous budgetary perspective of the European Union will be allocated for such a purpose. Shyshko noted that this is an initial amount, and expressed hope that it will be increased later.

Funds will be provided to Polish companies to strengthen exports, organize production processes, transportation, and strengthen the logistics capabilities of companies that want to work in Ukraine .

BGK Deputy Director Marta Postula said that the interest rate on loans for companies that are just entering the Ukrainian market will be 2%.

However, for firms that already have partners in Ukraine, the interest rate will be 1.75%.

The bank representative promised an even lower interest rate on loans for medical companies, in particular those engaged in the production of prostheses and dressing materials.

Polish companies will be able to obtain loans on preferential terms starting in April.

The maximum amount of a single loan will be PLN 10 million (EUR 2.4 million). Companies will be able to repay such loans over 10-12 years .

It was previously reported that Poland and Slovakia will help Ukraine implement recovery projects and develop the Carpathian region. Джерело: https://biz.censor.net/n3543828
