Poland is interested in building a new gas pipeline to Ukraine, for which it plans to invest in the implementation of this project.

As an UNIAN correspondent reports, this was stated by Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki after a meeting with Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal.

“Poland is already helping Ukraine with gas, transferring this gas from west to east, but the prime minister and I talked about the possibility of increasing the capacity to transfer gas from west to east. To do this, we need to make certain investments that we intend to implement,” he said. he.

He also called the possible launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline a geopolitical threat.

“This is a powerful threat to the security of our part of Europe. In this regard, together with the Prime Minister, we are appealing to Germany not to launch this gas pipeline, because it will become an element of blackmailing Europe by Russia. Our dear partners, we cannot to express solidarity with Ukraine, and the other to sign the certification documents for Nord Stream 2. This is not appropriate,” he said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, according to Prime Minister Shmyhal, Ukraine considers it promising to create technical capabilities for importing gas from LNG terminals located in Poland.
