In 2023, Poland abnormally increased exports to Belarus. Deliveries of goods amounted to $2.9 billion. After a slight decline at the beginning of 2022, Polish exports to the Belarusian market gradually grew and reached a record since at least 2000, writes EP with reference to UN Comtrade data.

It is indicated that in the top twenty Polish goods for export to the neighboring country there are many items related to production: industrial equipment, locomotives, optical accessories, electronics.

The top 5 export positions last year looked like this:

• cars – almost $1 billion, or a third of exports;
• plastic – $217 million;
• machinery – $158 million;
• electronics – $148 million;
• paints – $125 million

At the same time, Polish exports to Russia reached $3.7 billion. However, they collapsed immediately after the start of the big war. However, in parallel with the increase in supplies of certain categories of goods to Belarus, the export of the same items from Belarus to the Russian Federation has increased. According to journalists, this may indicate that EU goods enter Russia through Belarusian territory.
