The German Ministry of Defense used the password “1234” to access the audio recording of the response.

The German Ministry of Defense “protected” the commentary about Russia’s wiretapping of German officers with a very “original” password – 1234, reports BILD .

According to the publication, press releases in text form are regularly published on the website of the German Ministry of Defense.

“However, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius’s commentary on Russia’s wiretapping of German officers’ conversations was published there today in a new format. The press service provided a link to the NextCloud resource, where they posted an audio recording of the minister’s response to journalists. The file was “protected” with a password, but at the same time they wrote it directly under the link. It consists of four numbers: 1234,” the publication writes.

A BILD journalist calls this decision “at least ridiculous” against the backdrop of the biggest wiretapping scandal in recent years.”

“We can only hope that 1234 and similar passwords will no longer be used in the area of responsibility of the Ministry of Defense,” the journalist writes.

Leaked conversations of German officers

Earlier, Russian media distributed a recording of a conversation between German military personnel, during which, in particular, they discussed the possibility of Taurus missile strikes on the Crimean Bridge. Subsequently, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz  confirmed the authenticity of the “leaked” conversation between German officers about Ukraine , calling the incident a “big problem.”

At the same time, as Western experts note,  Russia may have many more intercepted conversations , in particular, recordings of Scholz.

  1. Pistorius must resign. What a bunch of fools work at the German Department of the KGB. Illiterate aSS-holes.

    • Not Pistorius’ fault that the cybersecurity of German Department of Defence is inadequate. At the wages they can legally pay, regulated by law, they can’t get better experts. ☹

  2. The whole world could see this secret meeting. Germans loves Russians, it will never change.

      • Funny fact for all who ever used Windows 98 SE with a password. All you had to do is press ESC instead of entering the password and Windows would boot you in anyway. Maybe the germans still use Win98? 😁

  3. Tomorrow, at 5 oclock, join us at the German Secret Service , the planned invasion of Moldova by Russia will be discussed. Interested in this top-secret meeting: Join in with your GSS account, the top secret login name is: ADMIN, like always. The top secret password is 1234 like always.

    BISS MORGEN!

  4. If it’s a password on an audio file being given to the press for publication, I don’t see a problem with that. If they used that as a password on top secret documents, that would be a different story.
