One division of a Russian motorized rifle battalion refused to participate in the assault against Kharkiv Oblast, the partisan group Atesh reported on May 10.

Russian forces launched a new offensive against Kharkiv Oblast on May 10. Fighting continues in the region, though Ukrainian troops held off the initial attempt to break through Ukraine’s defensive lines.

A member of Atesh, who serves in a motorized rifle battalion of the 44th Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces, said that one division in his unit outright refused to participate in the offensive against Kharkiv Oblast.

The Atesh member said that soldiers in his unit were wary of the high-quality fortifications had been build along the Russian-Ukrainian border.  He also said the soldiers had witnessed Russian sabotage and reconnaissance operations in the region that were unsuccessful.

“In view of this, when … the order was given, part of the unit refused to carry out the criminal will of the command,” Atesh reported.

Atesh said their members continue to work with Ukrainian forces to repel Russian attacks in Kharkiv Oblast.

President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed on May 10 that the Russian military had launched a new offensive in Kharkiv Oblast. He said that the Ukrainian command had known about a potential assault in this direction and had been preparing.

Moscow recently intensified attacks against Kharkiv amid reports that Russia might plan to attack Kharkiv as part of a wider offensive in the coming months.

The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported that fighting is ongoing in the Lyptsi and Vovchansk directions in the north of Kharkiv Oblast as Moscow deploys infantry and heavy equipment in the region.

  1. “A member of Atesh, who serves in a motorized rifle battalion of the 44th Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces…”

This is a surprise. I didn’t think that Atesh had members serving in the cockroach army. This is a good thing.

    • That bit jumped out at me too. It’s awesome that ATESH have members embedded inside orc formations, but the wisdom of revealing this info is highly questionable.
In the decades of the war against IRA terrorists, brave Irish people volunteered to embed themselves inside the murder gang to help the British security forces with great success.
Eventually the IRA were defeated, only for Tony Blair to reward their terror with the “Good Friday Agreement”; a Minsk-like sellout.
Decent Irish people realised that their own people were being murdered by vermin, but now, the false respectability given to a putrid murder gang has led to the putler-aligned IRA-Sinn Fein being on the verge of being elected in Ireland.

      • I think that perhaps the roaches were aware of being infiltrated by partisans before we found out.

      • “In the decades of the war against IRA terrorists,”
        Decades?
        Try centuries.
When it comes to understanding the Anglo-Irish conflict here is a good formula:
        The British= the Russians
        The Irish= the Ukrainians.
Change EVERYTHING you hear the Russians say about the Ukraines into english with aristocratic accent and that is how the viewed the Irish.
Weaponizing famine, ethnic cleansing, cultural extermination all of the tools that the Russians used on the Ukrainians the British used on the Irish.
All of the tactics The British/Americans used against the Native Americans they developed in Ireland.
Keep that in mind when you spout British Propaganda.
