On Friday, May 10, the State Department approved the urgent sale of three HIMARS installations to Ukraine .

As the Associated Press writes , the deal will reach approximately $30 million. Ukraine has asked to purchase three missile systems, which will be financed by the German government.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken determined that there is an emergency situation that requires the “immediate sale” of necessary weapons to Ukraine. The systems will come from army stocks.

New US aid package

As UNIAN reported, yesterday the USA officially confirmed that they are allocating another package of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 400 million dollars. It will include missiles for Patriot and Stinger air defense systems, Bradley and MRAP, Javelin systems and others. The White House announced the allocation of aid.

Politico previously reported that the package will include weapons that are already in American warehouses. According to the publication, it is about new missiles for the Patriot air defense system, Stringer anti-aircraft missiles, Bradley fighting vehicles and other weapons.

  1. Hmm, is it only my impression or is the speed of US deliveries really higher when another country pays for it? 🤔

    • I hear ya Sir Gray. I would hope that ALL deliveries would be in the urgent and immediate classification for Ukraine. I get that there is logistics, red tape, and case by case complications, but the statement had me wondering as well.

    Great, but I suggest that Canada should consider licensing the missiles and creating its own production line. There will be huge demand in the future. Remember, Iris-T works both ground-to-air and air-to-air! 🤨
