Some residents of the “pearl by the sea” are expected to have their power restored on December 31, according to preliminary estimates.

As a result of the latest Russian shelling, a significant portion of Odessa was left without power . The damage was so severe that some customers are promised power restoration within the next three days—preliminary estimates put it at the end of December 15th. For some, the preliminary deadline is even tighter—approximately December 31st.

This was stated in the comments under a post about the restoration of energy facilities in the Odessa region following another shelling on the DTEK Odesa Electric Grids Facebook page.

“Power restoration depends on the technical condition of the networks, the extent of damage, and the ability to safely complete the work. We are connecting buildings in stages to stabilize the system and ensure power to critical facilities,” the power engineers explain.

An Odessa resident commented on the company’s post on December 12 asking when power would be restored to her home, to which she received the following response: “The estimated restoration time is after 8:00 PM on December 15, 2025.”

Another resident of the “pearl by the sea” will have to wait even longer for power: “The estimated restoration time is after 11:00 PM on December 15, 2025. However, the work may be extended.”

Some Odesa residents say power is expected to be restored by the end of the year. The company admits it could take more than two weeks to restore power, but noted that this is an “estimated restoration time.”

DTEK employees urge residents to check the latest information on specific addresses through the company’s relevant channels.

DTEK Odesa Electric Grids added that “emergency work is underway in the Odesa, Primorsky, and Peresypsky districts.”

DTEK previously reported that on the night of December 12, Russia struck a DTEK substation in the Odessa region.

“This is already the twentieth substation to have sustained significant damage in the region,” power engineers noted.

Another company’s power facility was also hit.
