The head of state familiarized himself with the latest successes of Ukrainian defenders in the area.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy personally congratulated Ukrainian defenders on Ground Forces Day in the Kupyansk area. The successes of Ukrainian soldiers near Kupyansk strengthen Ukraine’s diplomatic negotiating position, the head of state noted in his address to the Ukrainian people.

“Today is the Kupyansk direction, our soldiers who are achieving results for Ukraine here. The Russians have talked a lot about Kupyansk – we see it. I was there, I congratulated the guys. Thank you to every unit, everyone who is fighting here, everyone who is destroying the occupier,” the head of state said.

As Zelenskyy emphasizes, achieving results on the front lines is crucial today, so that Ukraine can achieve results in diplomacy.

“That’s exactly how it works: all our strong positions within the country mean strong positions in the discussion about ending the war. Thank you to every soldier! I’m proud of you! Thank you to all our Ground Forces – today is your day. Thank you, guys,” the president noted.

As the National Guard Corps “Charter” reported on Telegram , an operation to stabilize the situation in the Kupyansk direction was successfully carried out.

“Following enemy actions and the escalation of the situation in the city in September of this year, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky created the search and strike group (SSG) ‘Charter,’ which began an operation to eliminate the Russian breakthrough,” the statement said.

In particular, also with the participation of other units, it was possible to break through to the Oskol River, cutting off the enemy’s supply lines.

During the operation, Kondrashovka, Radkovka and their environs, as well as a number of neighborhoods in the north of Kupyansk, were liberated.

“From September 22 to December 12, a total of 1,027 Russians were killed, 291 were wounded, and 13 were captured. More than 200 occupiers are surrounded,” the statement reads.
