Packages of American military aid to the Armed Forces are being reduced: CNN called the “‎strange”‎ reason

The Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine allegedly led to the “devastation” of the Pentagon’s stockpiles.

US military aid packages to the armed forces have been smaller in recent months as the Pentagon’s stockpile of weapons and equipment has dwindled. This is reported by CNN.

“It’s about the stocks we have, what they (Ukrainians, UNIAN) are asking for and whether we can satisfy these requests with what we have now,” the agency quoted one of the officials as saying.

According to CNN, restocking is also a problem. Earlier it was noted that the production of weapons, in particular, 155-mm ammunition and Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, is increasing in the USA.

These weapons are intended both for supply to Kyiv and for replenishment of American stocks. “But this is a multi-year process that will not be able to quickly satisfy the growing demand,” the article says.

Before the start of the war in Ukraine, the US produced approximately 15,000 155-mm artillery shells every month.

After the opening of new factories and production lines, these indicators increased to 40 thousand shells, but the Pentagon will still need more than a year to achieve its goal of producing 100 thousand shells every month.

CNN reminds that in April, the Pentagon announced the shipment of weapons and equipment worth up to $1 billion directly from US warehouses to Ukraine. This happened after Congress passed an additional funding package.

Since then, however, no new military aid package has cost more than $400 million, and most have cost between $125 and $250 million.

  1. So, the hermit kingdom that’s been under sanctions for decades has more ammo than the United States of America?
