Orban’s oligarchs are preparing to flee Hungary, – Magyar

In Hungary, the political debate surrounding the possible withdrawal of capital by individuals close to former Prime Minister Viktor Orban has intensified.

As reported by Censor.NET , this was stated by the future Prime Minister of Hungary, Peter Magyar.

According to him, this is about a large-scale transfer of assets abroad and the departure of individual representatives of the business elite.

Withdrawing billions and selling assets

Magyar claims that individuals close to the current government are transferring significant funds to the United Arab Emirates, the United States, and Uruguay. He said that the amount involved is tens of billions in various currencies.

He also said that tax authorities have already blocked several large transactions linked to people from Minister Antal Rogan’s entourage. The reason is suspected money laundering.

Separately, the politician announced the urgent sale of media assets, including the TV2 channel, at prices below market prices. He urged potential investors to refrain from such deals.

Departure of oligarchs and political statements

According to Magyar, some influential business families have already left Hungary. In particular, he mentioned the departure of the family of the country’s richest man, Lorinz Meszáros, to Dubai.

“I call on the Prosecutor General and the police to detain individuals who harm the interests of the Hungarian people and not allow them to leave the country,” said Peter Magyar.

He also claims that some officials are urgently taking families out and increasing security for possible travel abroad.
