Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has made another incendiary statement, asserting that ongoing negotiations over security guarantees for Ukraine will ultimately result in the country’s division into three zones: a Russian-controlled zone, a demilitarized buffer, and a western-aligned area. The comments were published by Magyar Nemzet on Sept. 7.
Orbán said current European discussions on security guarantees already “effectively acknowledge” the existence of a “Russian zone,” and are now focused only on its size and structure. The issue of a so-called demilitarized zone also remains open, he added.
“The fate of Ukraine appears to be sealed. Today, Europe is ‘elegantly’ pondering security guarantees, but these guarantees in fact mean the partition of Ukraine,” Orbán claimed. “The outcome will be a Russian zone, a demilitarized zone, and a western zone. The Russian zone already exists. Today’s debate is merely about how many regions it should include.”
The Hungarian leader again rejected Ukraine’s potential accession to the European Union and NATO, claiming it would provoke war with Russia and destroy the European economy. Instead, he called for a strategic agreement with Moscow that would involve Ukraine abandoning its aspirations to join Euro-Atlantic institutions.
On Sept. 4, presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak said Ukraine was willing to consider freezing the war along the current front line. He emphasized that a final decision on halting hostilities would be made by Ukraine’s president.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to reports of potential territorial concessions to Russia by stating that the issue of Ukraine’s borders is enshrined in the country’s Constitution. “No one will back down from that, and no one can,” he said, adding that Ukrainians will not gift their land to the occupiers or reward Russia for its war.

According to Zelenskyy, any territorial concessions would serve as a launchpad for further Russian aggression against all of Europe.
On Sept. 3, Zelenskyy suggested a possible Korean-style end to the war in Ukraine, referencing South Korea’s economic success despite never having signed a peace treaty with North Korea.
Please help us continue fighting Russian propaganda.
Truth can be hard to tell from fiction these days. Every viewpoint has its audience of backers and supporters, no matter how absurd.
If conscious disinformation is reinforced by state propaganda apparatus and budget, its outcomes may become deadly.
There is no solution to this, other than independent, honest, and accurate reporting.

OrbanaZi has “read the room” well. This is what Krasnov and feckless Europe are striving for.
Apart from Krasnov himself, there’s no bigger putler-rimmer than OrbanaZi.
Undoubtedly this bullshit has the blessing of the rat nazi, whose murder gang has probably sketched this out.
In fact OrbanaZi has gone a step further than his fuhrer, who “graciously” has “allowed” Ukraine to join the EU.
The real disgrace is that Nato and the EU continues to host satellites of putlerstan.
Fico and OrbanaZi are absolutely no better than Lukashenko.
Pinning our hopes on OrbanaZi being dislodged democratically next year is next to useless. He’s a fucking dictator and will rule until he’s dead or kicked out by force.
I hope you’re wrong about him getting kicked out but sadly I agree
When are the elections to get rid of this ass
I fuck the EU. But who the hell can dictate Ukraine not to join Nato? This is a thing between Ukraine and Nato.
Not a wise position to take.
Europe provides 25% of all the materiel used by Ukraine. The only big donors in Europe who are not EU members are the UK and Norway.
The U.S. provides 20%.
The rest is produced in Ukraine.
That was as of Jan 2025. Since then, Aus has become a bigger player with its donation of 55 Abrams tanks.
Krasnov is committed to providing zilch to Ukraine, although he says he will sell stuff to them via Europe.
I claim that the fat ugly toad goes to the swamps to mate with other fat ugly toads.
Who cares what a fat ugly toad has to say?
Another dinner ruined. Candles thrown out the window… 🤮
