The politician declares that the “peace party” cannot continue to exist during the war.

Vadim Rabinovich, co-chairman of the Opposition Platform – For Life party, announced the suspension of the existence of the political force.

The statement was published on the party’s website.

“We have always talked about peace. The party was built as a party of peace! But now there is no peace! The operation of the party is suspended!” Rabinovich said.

Rabinovich went on to call in his statement for an end to disputes between politicians and to help end the war and bring about peace. Russia, its political leadership, as well as the fact of a full-scale invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine, are not mentioned in the statement. 

Rabinovich also said that “after the illness and the operation, he is not fully able to work” and recalled that he has been in Israel since the beginning of February.

“Not being able to be in Ukraine today, I try to be useful where I am now!” he assures. 

As UNIAN reported earlier, on March 20, the National Security and Defense Council  stopped all activities of a number of political parties during martial law.

“The National Security and Defense Council decided, given the full-scale war and the ties of some political structures with this state, to suspend any activity of a number of political parties for the period of martial law. Namely: “Opposition Platform – For Life”; “Shariy’s Party”; “Ours”; “; “Left Opposition”; “Union of Left Forces”; “Derzhava”; “Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine”; “Socialist Party of Ukraine”; “Socialists”; “Vladimir Saldo Bloc,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message. 

The Ministry of Justice was instructed to take measures to immediately stop the activities of these political forces.

Also earlier, investigative journalist Hristo Grozev from Bellingcat said that Russia has spent billions of dollars since 2014 on a network of pro-Russian politicians and opinion leaders in Ukraine, but, in the end, they threw them for money.

Recall that as of March 16, 26 people’s deputies were abroad. Mostly – representatives of the Opposition Platform for Life. 

On the eve of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, information appeared about the secret departure of the wife of the head of the political council of the party, Putin’s godfather Viktor Medvedchuk – Oksana Marchenko – to Belarus.
