On the night of July 4 (from 6:00 p.m. on July 3), the Russian occupiers attacked the territory of Ukraine with 550 air attack vehicles. These included 539 Shahed-type strike drones and simulator drones of various types from the following directions: Kursk, Shatalovo, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russia (over 330 of them were Shaheds).

Also, as noted in the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy used one Kh-47 M2 “Dagger” aeroballistic missile from the airspace of the Lipetsk region of Russia, six Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles from the Bryansk region of Russia, and four Iskander-K cruise missiles from the Kursk and Voronezh regions of Russia.

“The main direction of the strike is the capital of Ukraine, the city of Kyiv! The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the report says.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defenses had neutralized 478 enemy air attack vehicles: 270 were shot down by fire weapons, and 208 were lost in location.

These are 268 enemy Shahed UAVs (other types of drones) that were shot down by fire, 208 were lost/suppressed by radar combat means; two Iskander-K cruise missiles.

“Enemy air attack vehicles were hit in 8 locations (9 missiles and 63 UAVs), as well as downed aircraft (fragments) falling in 33 locations,” the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.

What else is known about this attack?

As UNIAN reported, on the night of July 4, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine with missiles and drones. The main blow fell on Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

It is already known about 23 victims of the enemy attack on the capital. 14 of them were hospitalized, and the rest were provided with outpatient or on-site assistance. Among the victims is a 10-year-old girl.
