Odessa under missile attack, market bombed: powerful explosions heard in the city, 3 wounded (updated)

Several powerful explosions were heard in Odessa after the air raid alarm was sounded.

According to monitoring channels, launches of supersonic Onyx anti-ship missiles were recorded from the temporarily occupied Crimea, a Dumskaya correspondent reports.

Given the enormous speed of this type of missile, the time from launch to approaching the coast is a matter of minutes.

According to preliminary data, damage was recorded in one of the private sectors of the city.

A large number of firefighters are being dispatched to the impact site. Information on the extent of the damage, possible fires, and casualties is being clarified.

Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Special Operations Command, said: “The enemy cynically launched a missile strike on the outskirts of Odesa, targeting a crowded area near the market. Damage to civilian infrastructure has been recorded. Emergency services are working at the scene. Information on casualties and the consequences of the attack is being clarified.”

Three people are currently known to be injured: men aged 42, 45, and 81. Doctors are preliminarily assessing their condition as moderate, according to Odesa Regional Police Department head Oleg Kiper.
