Europe Day was celebrated in Odessa today by raising the EU flag at the city council building.
Children’s dance groups also performed for the crowd, and an art exhibition entitled “Ukraine – Part of the European Family” opened, reports a Dumskaya correspondent.

Acting Mayor Igor Koval noted that for Odessa, Europe Day is more than just a calendar date.
“Our city has been and remains deeply European since its founding,” Koval said. “Today, we feel especially keenly that Europe is not just a political union, but a common home where everyone supports one another.”
He thanked representatives of the diplomatic corps and sister cities for their assistance in strengthening energy security, supporting critical infrastructure, and humanitarian programs.
Following the official opening, the exhibition “Ukraine – Part of the European Family” opened in the City Hall building. Participants collaborated on a symbolic painting, the first touch of which was added by Russian-Ukrainian war veteran Anatoly Dordukov.
