Norway promises to increase gas supplies to Europe

In the coming months, Norway will expand the development of gas fields in order to increase gas supplies to Europe this summer.

This was announced by the operator Equinor, reports DW.

“Adjusted government permits to develop the Useberg field in the Norwegian Sea could increase gas exports by 1 billion cubic meters by September 30,” the statement said.

The report states that 1.4 billion cubic meters of gas will cover the needs of almost 1.4 million European households in 2022. The company also hopes to increase gas production at the Heydrun field by 0.4 billion cubic meters this year. There are plans to increase gas production at the Troll field, the largest in the North Sea.
