Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans believes that the North Atlantic Alliance should shoot down drones and missiles that violate its airspace.

Details: Brekelmans stressed that Russia’s violation of NATO airspace “is unacceptable and dangerous”.
“Our response must be clear. Drones and missiles entering our airspace should be detected and intercepted. If needed, NATO should support individual allies,” he added.
Background:
- The Dutch defence minister’s statement follows several incidents of Russian drones violating NATO airspace.
- In early September, at least one Russian Shahed drone crashed in Romania near the Ukrainian border. Additionally, a combat drone was discovered in Latvia, where it is believed to have flown in from Belarus.
- In both instances, the countries did not intercept the drones but allowed them to fall.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged international partners to act decisively and jointly counter Russian missile attacks, saying that so far, “only Belarus has distinguished itself by shooting down Russian Shaheds“.

Mafia land has been violating NATO airspace for years, but with aircraft. It’s been doing this with transponders turned off, and it’s been blocking GPS signals for months in the Baltic and Finland regions.
If you’re like me, you would’ve also thought that armed drones and missiles entering NATO airspace would be a red line and the LEAST we’d do is to shoot those things down. In all my life, I would’ve never thought having to ask, why aren’t we doing this??? Why are we endangering our own citizens for the sake of cowardice? I’m completely baffled by this. Mafia land, china, iran, the hermit kingdom, and every other terrorist and trash country are laughing tears over us.
The US have no right to tell NATO thay can’t defend European territory. Also the Europeans should stop hiding behind the NATO badge. If Ukraine can destroy these drones and missiles, so can the likes of Poland.
I’m sure they can destroy anything coming towards them, but their willpower seems to be as strong as a dandelion puff.
Now I get it. Where did all the world leaders go? The Netherlands, Denmark and many other non super power countries. God bless them.
