They do not plan to adjust their nuclear doctrine due to the actions of Moscow and Beijing in the West.

Despite the Kremlin’s constant hints of nuclear escalation , NATO does not see Russia as a direct threat to itself. This was stated by the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Jens Stoltenberg, in an interview with the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri .
“There is no immediate threat. I don’t see any need for NATO to revise its nuclear doctrine,” he said.
Currently, NATO is in the process of replacing the main carrier of nuclear weapons – from F-16 fighters to F-35. According to Stoltenberg, this process is also taking place “in normal mode”.
At the same time, the NATO Secretary General commented on the situation in the West’s relations with China.
“NATO does not consider China an adversary, but it poses a challenge to our values, interests and security,” Stoltenberg said, adding that China “threatens Taiwan, neighboring countries and the South China Sea.”
Russia rattles off nuclear weapons
As UNIAN wrote, Russia systematically resorts to direct and indirect threats with nuclear weapons as part of its invasion of Ukraine and geopolitical confrontation with the West. At the end of 2022, the US was “thoroughly preparing” for the fact that Russia could potentially strike Ukraine with nuclear weapons due to the loss of occupied territories. Russian propaganda made a lot of efforts to convince the USA of the existence of such a threat.

What in the world is he babbling on about now??? Does he even THINK before he speaks anymore?
I think this is why Generals should run NATO instead of politicians.
I doubt you’ll hear BS like this from Rutte when he takes over. If this guy does not see China or russia as a threat, what is the point of NATO?
2 steps forward, 1 step back, 1 step sideways. NATO is evolving like a crab and will end up boiling in Russian or Chinese pots.
