NATO countries have developed a new way to deliver critical American weapons to Ukraine to help it fight Russia , The New York Times reports .

It is noted that one option is to create special accounts in Europe under the management of General Alexus Hrynkevich, Supreme Allied Commander Europe. Through them, it will be possible to pay for weapons and ammunition, which will then be sent to Ukraine via third countries.

“The main goal is not to wait for weapons to be manufactured, but to use already ready-made stocks: from the arsenals of the US, other countries, or from the market, as the Czech Republic does, buying up 155-mm artillery shells around the world,” the article says.

Importantly, allies can also give Ukraine their weapons, receiving priority for purchase. For example, Germany purchased eight Patriot air defense batteries from the United States instead of the three sent to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The publication notes that the US fears that the withdrawal of Patriot from other areas will weaken the defenses of allies in Asia and the Middle East. At the same time, concerns about Russia are growing in Europe. The head of the French army, General Thierry Burkard, said:

“Putin considers France his main adversary in Europe.”

US President Donald Trump is planning to sell weapons to NATO allies on the condition that they then deliver them to Ukraine . According to Axios sources, the scheme was proposed at a recent NATO summit and discussed with Ukraine and European allies.

At the same time, according to the publication’s sources, the sales may include offensive weapons, not just air defense systems.

Great idea and good for Ukraine. This was part of the problem in Poland at the start of putin’s full on invasion, they wanted to give Migs but wanted them replaced by the F16s and it didn’t work out.
