Billionaire Tesla and social network X owner Elon Musk is getting offices on the White House complex, in close proximity to US President-elect Donald Trump, The New York Times reports, citing two informed sources.
Musk will head the Department of Government Efficiency in the new Trump administration. His offices will be located in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building adjacent to the White House. The location will allow Musk to continue to have significant access to Trump when he takes office following his inauguration on January 20.
Musk has discussed with transition officials what level of access he would have to the West Wing, the sources said. Details of those talks are not yet known.
