Media: Israel destroys Shahed factory in Iran with airstrike

06/15/2025

On June 15, the Israel Defense Forces carried out an airstrike on an Iranian military-industrial complex in the city of Isfahan. The plant was believed to be producing Shahed suicide drones.

This was reported by the Clash Report resource on the social network X. They published footage of the moment of the attack and its consequences for the Iranian enterprise.

“An Israeli airstrike destroyed an Iranian drone factory in Isfahan,” one of the posts said.

In a subsequent
report, the media added that the Israeli strike also hit Shiraz Electronics Industries, which manufactures almost all radar systems in Iran.

Features of the plant location

According to the Defense Express resource , the city of Isfahan is indeed home to a factory producing Shahed-136 drones, which Russia also uses for massive attacks on Ukraine. The coordinates of the facility, which is subordinate to the Iranian Ministry of Defense, are: 32.62264, 51.69310.

The enterprise is located on the territory of a helicopter air base. There are also several other important military facilities nearby, including underground missile tunnels, air defense positions, and underground bunkers.

On January 28, 2023, information appeared about a possible strike on the Shahed factory in Isfahan. The Iranian Ministry of Defense then stated that the military factory in the city had suffered a “failed attack” using mini-drones. However, analysts found out an interesting detail: this attack was carried out not from the territory of any other country, but by forces inside Iran itself, because mini-drones with a limited flight radius were used for the strike. Therefore, it was not confirmed that the strike fell specifically on the factory where the Shahed are produced, since this is not the only military enterprise in Isfahan.

Shahed Factory in Iran

In particular, several Iranian missile force position areas, other military units, and defense facilities, including industrial sites, have been built near this facility alone.

Experts also pointed out: it is necessary to take into account that Iran actively hides all truly critical production facilities underground. It has been doing this for many decades. For example, next to the plant where Shahed-136 is produced, there is a rather massive underground facility and it is “simply cut into the mountain and has three exits at once.”

“It is quite possible that while the enterprise looks like several hangars on the surface, there may well be underground production facilities under them. And special concrete-piercing bombs are needed to destroy them,” experts stated at the time.

As OBOZ.UA reported, the day before, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said that Iran had crossed red lines when it dared to launch “Shaheeds” and missiles at Israeli settlements. Although all the drones had previously been intercepted by air defenses, he promised Tehran an unbearably high price for strikes on civilians.
