Greece is preparing to supply Ukraine with a large batch of ammunition from its own stocks through a Czech initiative.
The iEidiseis reported on this.
The exact amount of ammunition has not been disclosed, but Greece plans to be reimbursed €150 million for the supplied shells.
The article states that the ammunition will come from the stocks of the Hellenic Armed Forces, where it was assessed as “fit for use.”
According to the publication, the Greek government is currently seeking approval of the decision of the parliamentary committee on this issue.

In addition, the military noted that the shells for sale include those that have been used in exercises by the Hellenic Armed Forces.
In February, the Czech government officials managed to locate about 1 million artillery shells for Ukraine, including 500,000 155-mm artillery shells and 300,000 122-mm shells abroad.
This amount will be enough to provide a vital respite on the front line for several months.
Subsequently, the Czech Republic reported that it had located an additional 200,000 shells, but did not provide details on the caliber of the shells or other details.
To date, about 20 countries, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Norway, as well as Canada, Sweden, Portugal, and Lithuania, have joined the Czech initiative to purchase artillery shells outside NATO and the EU.

The full amount of about €1.8 billion has now been raised, which has been immediately transferred to pay for the artillery shells, and they are now expected to be delivered.
At the same time, European countries are expanding their own production of shells, as they understand the importance of supplying them to Ukraine and their own armed forces.

Thank you, Greece! More Cargo 200s and 300s on the way soon.
Note: selling, not donating.
Polls suggest still strong putinaZi sympathies within the Greek population.
In Europe, only Orbanistan contains more lovers of the rat nazi.
Greece is a poor country, and they are reluctant to disarm themselves in the first place, having the trash country Turkey as a neighbor, so I’m glad for even this move, and can forgive them for selling the stuff.
Greece grew by 2% last year. GDP per capita : $23K; six times that of Ukraine. It spends 3.5% of GDP on defence. So they should do a lot more for Ukraine. The current conservative administration is sympathetic to Ukraine, but Greek people aren’t.
The baffling sympathy of Greek people with putlerstan (which I experienced for myself) is usually explained by the connections with the Orthodox church. Yet Ukraine is Orthodox, but that doesn’t seem to matter to them.
They are then poorly educated, and the government and media should do something about this. We have a similar situation in the US.

“Thus, Germany will account for 40% of the initiative’s contributions”

I’m glad that my country supports the Czech initiative with a substantial sum. Hold out, brave defenders, ammunition is on the way!
