McDonald’s plans to open its first restaurants in Transcarpathia in the spring

The McDonald’s restaurant chain will open its first two restaurants in the Transcarpathian region in the spring – in Uzhhorod and Mukachevo.

This was announced by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Viktor Mykyta on Telegram.

“This decision indicates the positive dynamics of regional development in Ukraine, the improvement of the investment and economic climate in the regions, as well as the high level of business trust in the authorities at all levels,” he emphasized.

According to him, it took McDonald’s a little over a year to implement projects in Transcarpathia.

In total, the American chain plans to open nine new restaurants in Ukraine by the end of 2025.

As reported, McDonald’s closed all of its restaurants in Ukraine on February 24 after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion for security reasons. They gradually began to reopen in September 2022.  In 2023, the company began opening its restaurants near major highways in Ukraine.

As of the beginning of 2025, the McDonald’s chain in Ukraine had 124 restaurants.
