Economic difficulties in Russia are increasingly hitting the population, which is reflected in the rapid increase in the number of personal bankruptcies.

According to the results of 2025, the Sverdlovsk Region entered the top five regions of the Russian Federation with the largest number of bankruptcy procedures of individuals and individual entrepreneurs, according to the Foreign Intelligence Service.
During the year, the number of reports of judicial sale of property in the region increased by almost 28%. In absolute terms, the region surpassed St. Petersburg, where over 20 thousand bankruptcies were recorded. The anti-rating traditionally also includes Moscow, the Moscow region and the Krasnodar Territory – regions with a high concentration of household debt.
This dynamic is explained by the fall in real incomes, the increase in the cost of living, and high household debt. The formal “economic stability” declared by the Russian authorities does not correspond to the real financial situation of citizens.
At the all-Russian level, the situation is even more complicated. In 2025, the number of judicial bankruptcies of individuals increased by more than 31% and reached almost 568 thousand cases, which indicates the systemic nature of the crisis with no signs of a quick resolution.
Over 97% of bankruptcy cases are initiated by the debtors themselves, effectively admitting their own financial insolvency due to the lack of alternatives.
As reported, Russian banks significantly accelerated the closure of branches across the country last year . About 1,700 offices were closed, which is 3.6 times more than in the previous year.
This figure was one of the highest in the observation period since 2019 and a record since 2021, when just over 1.7 thousand branches were closed. By the beginning of 2026, the number of bank branches in Russia had decreased to 22.3 thousand compared to 30 thousand seven years ago. Джерело: https://censor.net/n3598027

I see all this news but they still haven’t dropped dead. Is this becoming the west propaganda? My apologies for being cynical.
I look at it this way, it’s a death by a thousand cuts. Unfortunately, the West had/has the opportunity to make it a swift guillotine death, if … well, you know.
Interesting in the picture above, the man’s coat says, “I’m with Putin.”
