The Ukrainian military has a more effective strategy for the occupied peninsula, the military said
Ukraine is deliberately not attacking the Crimean Bridge , as the Defense Forces have chosen the tactic of destroying the logistics of Russian troops in order to gradually isolate the temporarily occupied Crimea.
This was stated by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert (Magyar) Brody, in an interview with British journalist Kaylin Robertson. According to him, the main goal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not to destroy the bridge itself, but to deprive the Russian group of the opportunity to receive fuel, ammunition, equipment and personnel.
“There is no fuel in Crimea, and there will be none,” the commander said.
Magyar explained in detail why the Ukrainian military is not currently attacking the Crimean Bridge. “We are not touching the Crimean Bridge… Let them go through it… without stopping to their Russia,” the military said.
He noted that instead, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are systematically attacking the logistics that provide the occupying forces on the peninsula.
These are routes for supplying fuel, ammunition, and transferring military equipment and personnel.
Broddy emphasized that in this way Ukraine is creating conditions for the isolation of occupied Crimea without conducting a large-scale ground operation:
“We are creating conditions that make it impossible for them to stay there, without wasting a single life of a Ukrainian serviceman. We are doing this exclusively remotely.”
Situation in Crimea
As UNIAN reported, Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov previously noted that with the help of drones, Ukraine is doing everything to isolate Crimea in the near future and cut off the enemy’s logistics there.
And on June 20, military analyst Oleksiy Getman suggested that if the blockade of the Russians’ logistical routes to Crimea continues, they will have no more than two and a half months of supplies left.
He noted that the Russians have inviolable reserves, hidden resources, but they may last for 2-2.5 months. “Then the only thing left for the group in Crimea is to capitulate, that is, to surrender or leave Crimea while there is such an opportunity,” the Hetman emphasized.
