Details: French President Emmanuel Macron commented on the issue after the Paris conference aimed at strengthening Western support for Ukraine wrapped up on Monday, 26 February.

“We discussed this. There is currently no consensus on sending troops [to Ukraine]. But we can’t rule out any possibilities when it comes to the future. We will do everything we can to prevent Russia from winning this war,” Macron said.

He stressed that all Western leaders are united in their unwillingness to enter a war with the “Russian people” and intend to continue containing the escalation, as they have done since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Macron said that Western countries “intend to do everything that’s needed to prevent Russia” from winning in this war: “Everything is possible, if it serves our goal.”

  1. This is the kind of language that must be spoken in this horrid war. Anything else is useless. If need be, the West must step up to the plate and even send ground troops into Ukraine. Maybe using its air forces first to sweep the skies of roach planes.
At any rate, if the allies can’t supply Ukraine with the right types of weapons and in sufficient numbers and on a timely basis, entering the fight will be the only option left to do if Europe doesn’t want to see the frontlines on their own territories. It’s that simple. Attitudes like those of Scholz are counterproductive, useless, and downright dangerous.
Having said that, Macron is starting to make me wonder. He seems to be doing what I’ve been wishing from the leaders of the collective West; growing a spine.

  2. Almost entirely due to Trump’s despicable aid block, putler is on the advance. And the nazi rat has enormous hordes of orc filth.
If a decision to send coalition troops was made today, it would be at least 3 months before they are in situ. They must do it now.
They must also declare that Ukraine airspace is closed to all Russian military and civil aircraft and that any entering Ukraine airspace may well be taken out. That’s not a NFZ, it’s just existing Ukraine policy; same as any sovereign country.

    • Sure, deployment of Western troops would take some time. But the first Nato airstrike could happen in a few days. 🤨

    • Well, Scradge, aliens will most likely visit Earth before the West will send any troops to Ukraine.
Nevertheless, I’m still glad that Macron said this. Such talk is always a very first step for something more in the future. Maybe this will shock some people into reality and get them to move their asses faster. I’m also glad that Macron is finally emerging from his bubbly cocoon.

  3. I have been waiting for a while for us to strengthen our language a little towards Moscow, failing to send Ukraine all the weapons it needs. The Nazis in the Kremlin only understand the language that says “Boom”, but it is important to make them think a little.

But everyone knows that is very unlikely. The only condition for having coalition troops in Ukraine is that the latter agrees to definitively freeze the conflict at the limits of the current front and that NATO welcomes the portion of free territory under its “jurisdiction”.

  4. This information was categorically rejected today by several European leaders assuring that the status quo in this matter (no troops in Ukraine) concerned all members of the alliance.
