Macron did not see in Putin’s words signs that Russia is preparing to attack Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron held telephone conversations. This information was confirmed to Interfax by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

The French TV channel Europe1 reported , citing the Elysee Palace, that the conversation lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes. It was dedicated to the escalation of tension around Ukraine. What Putin said did not indicate that Russia was preparing an offensive on Ukrainian territory, an unnamed Elysee Palace official told Reuters.

“However, we are extremely vigilant and closely monitoring the Russian [military] presence to avoid the worst,” the Reuters source added.

During the conversation, Putin noted the lack of a “substantial reaction” from the United States and NATO to Russia’s demands for security guarantees, as well as “the unwillingness of the leading Western countries to push the Kiev authorities to implement the Minsk agreements .” In addition, Putin and Macron discussed “provocative speculation” about an allegedly planned Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin said .

  1. “However, we are extremely vigilant and closely monitoring the Russian [military] presence to avoid the worst,”

A very, very vague statement. What, exactly, will they do to avoid the worst? Do they have a number of prepared text messages for mafia land to “admonish them sharply”?
It’s people exactly like Macron, and governments just like France’s, which have made all those hostilities by mafia land possible. Irresponsible behavior by Western leaders have cost excessive lives and is dangerously close to cost far more.
