A plane arrived in Ukraine with military assistance from Canada .

This was announced on Saturday, February 19, by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov on his Facebook page .

“Weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from our close friends – Canada. Today we received military assistance in the form of sniper rifles, automatic rifles, machine guns with optical aiming aids, pistols, night vision and surveillance devices, military equipment. Thanks to our partners and friends for this an important and timely decision,” the head of the Defense Ministry wrote.

Separately, he also thanked the Minister of National Defense Anita Anand “for her powerful position in support of Ukraine.”

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Canadian government called on Russia to de-escalate in Donbas and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

As of 17:00 on February 19, 70 violations were recorded by the armed formations of the Russian Federation in Donbas, 60 of which involved the use of weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and four were wounded.
