Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, stated that his country has sent about a third of its army to the Ukrainian border due to the presence of more than 120,000 Ukrainian soldiers there.

Quote: “Given their [Ukraine’s – ed.] aggressive policy, we introduced and stationed our forces along the whole border at strategic spots to provide defence in the event of a war. Furthermore, special services work there; special forces – Alpha, Almaz, and others – are the most prepared and they do their job.”
Details: Lukashenko believes that Ukrainian forces are near the border with Belarus because they expect that “Putin will again advance from the territory of Belarus.”
“In response, I was forced to transfer almost a third of the army additionally to strengthen what was there before,” claims Lukashenko.
He also stated that “removing our troops from the border with Ukraine would be tantamount to death. War is afoot,” he concluded.
Background: Alexander Lukashenko stated that Russia would send its troops to Belarus to provide military support in case of aggression against Minsk.

Mr Potato Head thinks keeping his troops there would result in a different outcome if Ukraine decided to invade Belarus.
Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko said that the goal of the “Special Military Operation” (as Russians call the war in Ukraine – UNIAN) has already been achieved. According to him, there are no “Nazis” in Ukraine anymore. He said this in an interview with the propaganda TV channel “Russia-1”.
The self-proclaimed president believes that “denazification has taken place” in Ukraine, since 70% of Ukrainians “hate Zelensky.”
I’m not sure what exactly the mustachioed potato wants to achieve with this move. A third, half, or even all the Belarusian army at the border is irrelevant. If Ukraine were to invade, his army would disappear like a wisp of fog in the morning sun. And he knows it.
Maybe it makes him feel a little important … just a wee bit.
