Russia simply doesn’t like the fact that Germany 🇩🇪 is stepping up and doing the fight thing to help Ukraine 🇺🇦 kick Russians out of Ukraine and help bring peace to the rest of Europe when it helps Ukraine 🇺🇦 .

Tankers from the US “black list” deliver oil from russia to India: Bloomberg reveals scheme.

Tankers under US sanctions have entered India’s complex supply chain for russian oil , casting doubt on the country’s stance on russian supplies as imports reach record levels.

Bloomberg reports that last week, about 1 million barrels of Sokol crude oil from russia’s Far East was delivered to a refinery in India. Half of that volume was transferred twice from ship to ship, with a sanctioned tanker involved in the scheme. Other ships on the US “black list” transferred cargoes to Sokol for delivery next month.

Oil traders are watching purchases by India, which has become the largest importer of russian seaborne crude since russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and U.S. efforts to curb those shipments. The Western restrictions are aimed at keeping the oil flowing and avoiding a sharp price spike, but at limiting Moscow’s gains.

In late March, the Viktor Titov, which was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department in January, picked up about 500,000 barrels of Sokol from russia’s De-Kastri terminal. Proceeding to Nakhodka Bay near the russian city of Kozmino, the Viktor Titov transferred from the vessel to the Night Glory a week later.The vessel then sailed to Malaysian waters, where it transferred its cargo to the Suezmax Cordelia Moon, which unloaded at the Jamnagar refinery in western India in late May. The Night Glory and Cordelia Moon are under UK sanctions, but not the US.

Other sanctioned tankers involved in the trade included the Kapitan Kostichev and the Viktor Konetskiy, according to Kpler. The former loaded 699,000 barrels of Sokol from the Sakhalin-1 in late April and transferred it to the Monte-1, which is scheduled to unload in Jamnagar in early June. The Viktor Konetskiy transferred to the Night Glory in Nakhodka Bay in mid-May.

Imports are set to reach a record 2.196 million barrels a day this month as new tankers join the trade following January’s wave of U.S. sanctions.

Bloomberg reported that according to Kpler data, russian oil imports to India will reach 2.15 million barrels per day in April, which would be the largest monthly volume since May 2023.

Later, Reuters reported that russian oil sales to India in May would reach almost 1.8 million barrels per day, a record high in the past 10 months.
