The general noted that Ukraine may reject the proposal for talks in Istanbul on June 2 due to Russia’s actions.

US President Donald Trump is “disappointed by the level of Russia’s unreasonableness” in the Ukraine peace talks, US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg said in an interview with ABC News

The general stressed that Moscow has not yet provided the Ukrainian side with the promised memorandum. This  creates additional risks for the continuation of negotiations.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin promised to provide his own proposals for settling the war of the week during a conversation with Trump , but neither the American nor the Ukrainian sides received them.

“I asked the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine (Andriy Yermak – UNIAN) whether he had seen this document – he said that he had not seen it at all… The Ukrainian negotiator (Minister of Defense – UNIAN) Umerov also did not receive it ,” Kellogg noted.

Trump noted that Ukraine could reject the proposal for talks in Istanbul on June 2, since it did not receive the promised memorandum.

Kellogg added that Trump had made several overtures that could serve as a basis for discussing the future status of the occupied territories , but the lack of response from Russia and the weak support for these proposals had disappointed him. The general said:

“I think his disappointment is that he put forward some sensible proposals and tried to start a constructive discussion. But instead he saw a level of stupidity that really upset me too.
