Over the last forty-eight hours, the followers of Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens flooded the internet en masse with profane, vituperative commentary blaming Israel for the massacre of Jewish Chanukah celebrants at Bondi Beach.
Owens herself, a self-appointed judge, jury, and executioner, and without any proof, led an online mob, doubling down on insinuations that implicate Erika Kirkto the alleged cover-up of her own husband’s murder.
During that same news cycle, rather than being praised for courage, Volodymyr Zelensky was accused without any evidence, purely based on contempt, of staging an AI deception when he appeared in person at the front lines of Kupiansk, utterly shattering Vladimir Putin’s narrative of conquest of that strategic city.
And then came this.
The President of the United States broadcast to hundreds of millions a brutal, personal attack on Rob Reiner, the man who gave us The Princess Bride and When Harry Met Sally—a man who, together with his wife, had been tragically murdered the night before by their own son. This great cultural icon and his wife could not even be granted 24 hours of respect, before contempt was reigned down on them from the same White House which now addresses inconvenient reporters as “piggy.”
The message to American children is this – blame, accuse, disrespect the dead, insinuate, mock those in a position of weakness. Virtue is expendable, when political conquest is on the line.
One of the reasons the MAGA movement rose to power was as a heartfelt reaction to the woke excesses of the last decade and a deep distrust of mainstream media.
But instead of offering leadership grounded in restraint, moral seriousness, and principled thought, what has emerged from the White House and from the right-of-center podcast ecosystem—is conquest through contempt.
Verbal brutality replaces persuasion. Sarcasm substitutes for argument. Cruelty is repackaged as authenticity.
Vile is presented as virtue.
“Just asking questions” becomes a shield for defamation and sadism…

Dear Tucker and Candace:
When you spend years spinning yarns, raising up mobs and training people to hold the innocent in contempt, some people take you serious.
And people die.
How many more will die because you laud and enable war criminals and terrorists before tens of millions?
It’s been a hard week in Ukraine for the innocent. It was a horrible day on Bondi beach. You may not be pulling the trigger on Ukrainians and Jews, but you have enabled those who have.

Chanukah for My Great-Grandfather in Lviv
Below is an image of the large Chanukah menorah lit at the ruins of the Golden Rose Synagogue in Lviv—for the first time.
I stood here just days after October 7, 2023. This is believed to be the synagogue where my great-grandfather, and generations of my ancestors, worshipped and would have celebrated the Festival of Lights when they lived in Lviv.
Ultimately, he was hunted by Russians and fled Lviv to build a new life in America. The synagogue itself which was built in the 16th century, was later desecrated and destroyed by the Nazi Germany between 1941 – 1943. The square became a site where thousands of Jews were executed. Today, the site stands as a stark reminder of Russian and Nazi injustice.
Yet the menorah burns again.
For me, it is profoundly personal — part of my family story.
No, I never imagined I would live to see a day when Jews would be daily reviled by leading figures in America, their synagogues destroyed by Russians again in Ukraine, or Chanukah celebrants mass murdered on a a beach in Australia while celebrating with their children.
Yes, the insidious power of hatred is devastating, but truth and love are the antidote to poison.
All of this makes the story of Chanukah a potent landmark – The candles we light are a reminder that the tyranny of evil empires will not survive, and that faith in the One True God cannot be extinguished.

Why is such behaviour not criminalized?
I don’t get it.
It’s very obvious that those who support the orange gangster in the White House do so because their minds are just as feeble and wicked as his. You might get through to some and others might see the light of their mistakes on their own, but the majority of maga morons will forever be morons.

Obviously the antecedents of DW, but also a vast number of high achievers who enriched America but would have enriched Ukraine, given the chance.
